Born out of a struggle against corruption in the NREGS in August 2011 in Ratnauli Panchayat, we work on spreading awareness amongst the poor regarding their rights and various government programs that have been initiated for their sake.
Our main areas of work are (click each heading for a full version):
We work on empowering workers to demand work under the scheme, demand timely and proper payments and unemployment benefits.
We work on ensuring that the poor get their due of rations on time — we have ensured that hundreds of families get their share of rice, wheat and kerosene in a timely manner by repeatedly petitioning the Fair Price Shop (FPS) dealer and the Mukhiya (village head).
We fight to ensure that pensions are given to the old and the infirm. We conduct awareness campaigns and rallies telling people about the various schemes available for the widowed and the disable, the old and the ailing.
